Use up those prolific cherry tomatoes in this easy-to-whip-up Bloody Mary mix. Feel free to customize it to your preferences with other vegetables, spices, and herbs, including curry powder, berbere spice mix, pickled hot peppers, fresh ramps, and so forth. The possibilities are endless.
2 cups fresh whole cherry tomatoes, any variety
1 teaspoon freshly grated lemon zest
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
1 heaping tablespoon prepared horseradish
1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce (traditional or vegan)
1 tablespoon hot sauce (we use DC’s own Uncle Brutha’s No. 10)
1 teaspoon chopped fresh oregano (fresh basil is also nice)
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
Put all ingredients in a blender and blend on high until pureéd. Strain through a sieve; can be stored in the refrigerator for one week.
